Now I want to get to 1000!
I promised Deval Patrick that I would identify 50 Massachusetts voters who would pledge to support him on November 2, 2010. Will you be one of my 50? I promised Deval Patrick that I would identify 50 Massachusetts voters who would pledge to support him on November 2, 2010. Will you be one of my 50? If yes, please indicate by saying you'll "attend" (though it's not really an "event!") Better yet, will you also pledge to identify 50 supporters? I can get you information about how to do that if you're interested.
There are many reasons why I have supported Deval Patrick since he began to run for the office of Governor in 2005. I look forward to helping him win a second term, so that he can finish the important work we started together. I am working as a volunteer, organizing other volunteers in Dorchester.
His accomplishments in the last three + years are many - transportation reform, education reform, ethics reform and pension reform. He has delivered every budget balanced and on time. He opened competition in the insurance industry, and implemented a (not perfect, but something) health insurance program that has seen to it that 97% of all people in Massachusetts are covered. He has made our state a leader in biotech and green energy, and has streamlined the bureaucratic hoops that small businesses have had to jump through for years. In addition - and I think this is really important - he has seen to it that in Massachusetts, people can marry anyone they choose to marry. That was all him. Without him, there would have been a vote on civil rights.
Faced with undoing 16 years of damage in a struggling economy, he has done very well.
